Catherine (“Cathy”) Matthes is the Founder and Managing Member of MedFINiti, LLC which focuses on providing contracted financial, operational, transactional, and strategic services to venture-backed life sciences and medtech businesses. Cathy has more than thirty years of experience across a range of leadership, business development, and operational roles in both early-stage and established life science companies.
Before starting MedFINiti, Cathy served as CFO for Veniti, Inc., a venous stent company, for which she managed operations and drove fundraising, strategic planning and eventually the sale of the company to Boston Scientific in 2018. Throughout the years, Cathy has developed a niche in serving the vascular medical device industry. Two current clients of hers are addressing unmet medical needs in vascular occlusions, chronic venous insufficiency, and deep vein reflux. Additionally, Cathy spearheaded negotiations, due diligence and contracting for a former client, Vetex Medical, in its sale to Surmodics.
During her tenure in public accounting, after graduating with a BSBA from the University of Missouri, Cathy also gained her Certified Public Accountant designation. She is also a proud recipient of the 2006 Most Influential Business Woman and 2015 CFO of the Year awards.
Cathy splits her time between her hometown of St. Louis and her adopted home in Montana where she is at her happiest skiing, hiking, biking, kayaking and riding her ATV through the big sky country.
