Barry Sandweiss is a General Partner at Cultivation Capital, focusing on software technology investments. He brings over 30 years of leadership experience in real estate, real estate finance, and technology, currently serving as a director or observer on the boards of FinLocker, Matic, Blueprynt, Reconstruct, and RebelIQ.
In 2000, Barry co-founded Lenders One, the largest mortgage-banking cooperative in the United States, then representing nearly 14% of the U.S. residential originations market. He served as Chief Operating Officer until the company was acquired by Altisource Portfolio Solutions (NASDAQ: ASPS) in 2010. Following the acquisition, he joined Altisource’s Global Leadership team as Senior Vice President. During his tenure, the company’s market capitalization expanded to over $5 billion, bolstered by the spinouts of Altisource Asset Management Corporation (AAMC) and Front Yard Residential (RESI).
In addition to his corporate executive roles, Barry co-founded Community Lenders of America, a national advocacy group for community-based mortgage lenders.
Barry attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison and is based in St. Louis, Missouri.
