SXSW Recap

Here at Cultivation Capital, we are still trying to get over the excitement that is/was SXSW this year. It was a great opportunity for our portfolio companies and start-ups from across Missouri to network, showcase their products and services and enjoy everything Austin had to offer.

This year, Kansas City and St. Louis’ startup communities teamed up to rent a bus to get everyone down to Austin. The bus was an awesome experience to get to know different members of the Missouri entrepreneurship community.

On Monday, March 11, the team from St. Louis’ own Tunespeak (who are members of the band “The Pernikoff Brothers”) kicked off the Startup MO party with awesome live music. The event was also a chance for Tunespeak to launch their new platform that connects bands with their biggest fans. Tunespeak was one of several St. Louis startups that received a very warm welcome at SXSW. Check them out at:

Our newest portfolio company, FoodEssentials, had a great showing at SXSW and was able to cultivate and develop a number of great connections and leads. Overall, SXSW was a great opportunity for B2B companies, as there were lots of corporations in attendance.

And in terms of keeping connected, Bonfyre had us covered. The St. Louis startup’s app was a great way to keep the Startup Missouri crew organized and updated.

SXSW was an incredible week for us and we look forward to next year’s event!
