Elise Miller Hoffman
Elise is a Principal at Cultivation Capital. Managing the firm’s Life Sciences Funds I and II, she helps promising biotechnology startup companies gain the funding they need to develop life-saving technologies, drugs, and medical devices. Her responsibilities include deal sourcing, due diligence, portfolio management, fundraising, financial reporting and investor relations. She is a Steering Committee Member for the Emerging Venture Leaders Summit, a nationwide venture capital conference, and is a Board Observer at portfolio company NarrativeDx.
Prior to Cultivation Capital, Elise consulted for startups and early-stage investment organizations, and served as Senior Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Washington University in St. Louis, where she created a recruitment program designed to increase the racial and socioeconomic diversity on campus.
Elise has been active in politics throughout her professional career, and currently is the President of the St. Louis Young Democrats and the National Mentorship Director of New Leaders Council, a nationwide civic leadership program. She holds a BA in Spanish Literature and Latin American Studies, and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
