Cultivation Capital Leads $2.25M Financing Round in FinLocker
St. Louis (MO) February 24, 2016 – Cultivation Capital, a leading St. Louis-based venture capital firm, is thrilled to announce an investment in FinLocker, a secure financial data and analytics platform where a consumer can share access to financial information to streamline the lending process for the lender and consumer.
FinLocker has completed a $2.25 million round of financing for solution development and to fuel growth of the company. Cultivation Capital led the round. SixThirty FinTech Accelerator, Holekamp Ventures, Holton Capital Group, and a number of other private investors also participated in the round.
“We are excited about FinLocker’s progress and the feedback from the marketplace” said Cultivation Capital General Partner, Rick Holton Jr. “The FinLocker technology offers an innovative re-usable “financial locker” and analytics platform in a space that we think is ripe for disruption.”
With FinLocker, lenders are able to engage the consumer to enroll associated financial accounts into FinLocker as part of the online loan application. This allows lenders to quickly obtain financial information from consumers to expedite and improve data collection in the loan process. Once the data is received, FinLocker applies automated business rules and analytics to examine the information for loan processors and underwriters. FinLocker expects to significantly reduce costs, risks and potential fraud for lenders and investors.
“The response that we have received from a number of key mortgage industry companies has been reassuring that FinLocker is addressing some major gaps in truly making the lending process more streamlined and digital,” said FinLocker Co-Founder and CEO Peter Esparrago. “The problem we are trying to solve is to reduce borrower frustrations and lender costs associated in getting a mortgage approved as fast a possible, while increasing certainty for investors.”
FinLocker is a consumer-enabled financial technology platform that gives lenders access to critical borrower information via a trusted 3rd party that can be used to streamline the origination and underwriting processes for mortgages and other financial products.
