Kyle Welborn

Cofounder & General Partner

Kyle is a cofounder and General Partner at Cultivation Capital, specializing in AgriFood Tech investments. He also holds the role of general partner at Yield Lab North America.

Currently, he chairs the board at NanoGuard Technologies, a pioneering food waste mitigation company backed by investors like Bunge and Bayer. Kyle also holds a board position at Ascribe Bioscience, a startup focused on innovative bio-fungicides.

He is a board observer representing the firm’s interests in Hydrosat, a provider of geospatial intelligence for food security, and Eiwa Ag, a company driving plant breeding digitization.

Past board service includes Label Insight, a company delivering food label data insights to government, retailers, manufacturers, and app developers, culminating in its acquisition by NielsenIQ in 2021. Kyle is also a contributor to CropLife.com, where he delves into AgTech startup investment trends.

Before joining the AgriFood Tech investment team, Kyle led Cultivation’s operations. In 2012, he co-founded St. Louis’ FinServe Tech Angels, which later integrated into the St. Louis Arch Angels network. He graduated from Loyola University Chicago where he majored in political science and international studies. Kyle lives in Philadelphia with his wife and daughter.
