Bill Schmidt

General Partner

Bill Schmidt leads Cultivation Capital’s healthcare and life sciences strategy, bringing over thirty years of experience in the medical device and healthcare information technology sectors. He cofounded, built, and sold a highly successful digital health company, LDM Group. LDM developed a proprietary software platform designed to drive behavioral adherence. Prior to LDM, he held various executive leadership positions, most notably at United States Surgical Corporation (now the Covidien division of Medtronic) and at Catalina Health Resource.

Bill currently serves with numerous portfolio company boards including Euphrates Vascular, ImageMoverMD, Fifth Eye, Orbita, CuriMeta, Monitaur, Clever, Mediprocity and SentiAR, as well as performing his non-profit work with the St. Louis Zoo Association, St. Louis Community Foundation, and Villa Duchesne High School. Additionally, he serves on the start-up competition committees for Arch Grants & Washington University.

Having suffered unexplained syncope while traveling in Europe, Bill had a cardiac ablation performed in 2016 for supra-ventricular tachycardia (SVT) – making cardiac healthcare even more near and dear to his “heart”.  A sports enthusiast, he coaches Special Olympics softball and basketball and plays golf, basketball, and pickleball. Bill holds a B.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and was a torch bearer for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Bill lives in St. Louis with his wife and three children.
